In the seventh grade, the student will actually be involved in studies of civics(government) and world geography.  Naturally students at this grade level are highly interested in questions about society and the world around them which extends to world geography where students learn about other cultures and governments in different locations around the world.  The lessons taught in civics will include a basic education in fundamental values and principles of the constitutional democracy established in this country.  In their study of geography they focus on the five geographic themes and can apply it to any place on the globe. (See handbook for Themes of Geography.)
